David H. Barton, Managing Partner


David H. Barton is Managing Partner and a founder of the firm of Barton & Klieger, P.C. and practices in estate planning, estate and gift taxation, income taxation, elder law, probate and administration of estates, estate litigation, charitable entities and giving, asset protection, business and succession planning for closely held businesses, and guardianship.  Mr. Barton has represented clients ranging from small closely-held and family businesses to high net worth individuals with assets approaching a quarter of a billion dollars.

           

Mr. Barton is admitted to practice in the States of New York and Connecticut.  He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the New York County Lawyers Association and the Suffolk County Bar Association.  Mr. Barton has lectured extensively on trusts and estates issues and is frequently called upon by financial planners, advisors and banking executives to consult on complex estate and tax issues. 

         

Mr. Barton graduated with honors from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsburg Law Center.  Prior to attending Law School, Mr. Barton earned both a Bachelors and Masters of Science in Hydrogeology and Water Resources followed by a distinguished career as a Hydrogeologist and Hydrogeological Modeler.  To this day Mr. Barton still maintains his Professional Geologists Licenses, keeping current and active in the environmental field.


Matthew J. Klieger, Partner


Matthew J. Klieger is a Partner and co-founder of the firm of Barton & Klieger, P.C. and practices in estate planning, elder law, probate and administration of estates, charitable entities and giving, asset protection, business and succession planning for closely held businesses, and guardianship.  Prior to founding the firm, Mr. Klieger worked for a prestigious New York law firm practicing in the area complex commercial litigation where he represented clients ranging from national celebrities and corporate executives to Fortune 500 companies.


Mr. Klieger is admitted to practice in the State of New York, and is currently a member of the New York State Bar Association, the New York County Lawyers Association and the Suffolk County Bar Association.  Mr. Klieger has lectured on trusts and estates issues and is frequently called upon by financial planners, advisors and banking executives to consult on complex estate and tax issues.  A graduate with high honors from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsburg Law Center, Mr. Klieger is the recipient of numerous awards including the Nathan Burkan Memorial Competition Award presented by the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers for which Mr. Klieger garnered recognition from United States Senator Robert Menendez.
